Lilly, JD, Tahlia, Mia Turkey Gallipoli Peninsula-Men fighting It has been exactly 100 years since New Zealand and Australia landed in Gallipoli to risk their lives for everyone. New Zealand celebrate this by remembering the ones that have fought for us. It started on the 15th of April 1915 and ended in 1918. 2779 New Zealanders had died within those years and 8441 Australians died as well. It’s pretty sad to. New Zealanders and Australians today claim common ownership of terms such as (ANZAC) and (DIGGER) We remember them by saying Lest We Forget. After the war New Zealand became known! The countries involved in the war are New Zealand, Australia and Turkey. They slept in trenches which got flooded and wrecked it was a really hard life to live in. It also got really cold at it started to snow. Some people got frostbite, sick, weak and their health was very low. All they wanted was to save was our land. The war went on for 8 months 2 weeks and 1 day. 87% of people who fought for us died, wounded or became ill. Remember those people who fought for us. They helped save many lives.
